With Windows there have been occasions where a user have never got the
plugin work. Whereas with Linux base systems, I know of no total
failures.

If filetypes are involved -then something weird has happened.

The plugin can only play normal audio CDs - it cannot play CDROMs with
MP3 files.

Deal with the problem by testing the different layers and build on
getting each layer to work.

First - prove the CD drive reads disks with cddawav. This may involve
permissions (I don't know PCP so I'm going on generalities).

1. What is the version of the application install and its name icedax or
cdda2wav ?
2. is there a /dev/cdrom device when cd drive is plugged in ?
3. does the following work *cdda2wav -scanbus* ?
4. Insert a normnal audio CD into drive, let it settle (wait till all
the whirring stops) and try the following command *cdda2wav
device=/dev/cdrom -verbose-level=toc -N -g -J *
