Sounds odd - but perhaps is somehow RNP is causing that. Broadly ... RNP polls the remote site every 5 seconds or so to get the current track info - and gives an update to LMS if the current info is different to the last that it gave. Can you repeat your problem with logging in RNP set to Info and discuss in the RNP announce thread?
