I understand the missing files part, thanks for that.

However, your comment about the network interface did put me on the
right track
As far as the network interface is concerned, the DS218+ NAS has only
one interface so I assumed it should be detected automatically.....
However, your comment forced me to go to all the network settings on the
NAS and I found a setting for which I did not tick the box.
It's in "Control Panel > Network > Network Interface > select LAN >
edit: Items there are IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway and DNS.
All of those were correct and I did not have any problems with the NAS
However there is an extra tick-box called "Set as default Gateway" which
was un-ticked. 
After ticking that box and restarting the bridge almost instantly the
Yamaha showed up and all errors were gone including the missing files
message.......
Hopefully this can help others who have the same problem.
