I thank you for any help/advice you've offered, but if you check
through this thread you may realise you are the one constantly on stage
with the amateur dramatics... I won't be pulled into some mindless scrap
- If you think you can contribute, then please do post, if not then just
don't... All this needless 'staging' is not required (please)...

I'll quote me previous post in the hope you don't (as you are risking
with your banter) taking this thread off-topic :/

-OK... Let's use an example...

I browser by artist and then album to track 1 of an album... I'm
listening to it and want to hear the end bit. So I want to use the
(superior IMHO) 'Scanner' plugin.

By the definitions we've talked about so far we can get to it in a
single key depression and move to the place we want to hear. Great!

Now I've listened to some more of that track and want to move into
another track on that album (I have navigated to). Unfortunaly, at
best, leaving the scanner has left me in 'Now Playing'. So to get back
to the artist and album I have to traverse back through the menu system
again... Ideally (just like the standard FF & REW) I'd be exactly where
I was to start with... ie: A single left arrow would take me to the
album, another to the artist etc etc...

Does that explain it?-

So, in an ideal world you FF or REW (just as per the standard
functionality) and be left exactly where you were before, and not have
to navigate menus...

>From the suggestions so far, it seems (& maybe someone can confirm
this) this just isn't possible. The best you can do is at the press of
a button go to 'scanner' for example, and then on exiting it end up in
'Now Plpaying', and not back in the 'Browse' where you originally were
for example?
