Well, I got it working by enabling the ssh on the readyNAS and then using a graphical ssh client (Fugu) on my Mac to put the files in the plugins directory. I'm running SC7.2 and the listen again works beautifully. Not sure why it works when I haven't got SC7.2.1 installed.
