Squeezeslave is a simple player, similar to SoftSqueeze, but without any GUI. I use it as a player on my PC, since I can run it in the background, and it doesn't use many resources. It isn't 100% compatible with all streams,however (I've gotten "chipmunk" sounding internet radio streams - I think because they stream at different rates that squeezeslave doesn't support). I just installed the 1.5.0b1 version on my Windows XP server, and it works against my version of Squeezeslave. (I'm running SC 7.3). HOWEVER, I don't seem to get any stream data (song titles)... this is also true of the "now playing" view. I will try clearing my SC cache (if I can remember how), and try it against my SB3 to see if that helps.
