I am not going to look into other issues/symptoms as SoftSqueezeze is deprecated - it is more worthwhile using Squeezeplay and logging bugs as they will get fixed.
I am looking into the one issue about WMA streaming - the different symptoms (e.g. 0% fullness) all go back to the same problem - Softsqueeze doesn't like the URL supplied, it disconnects the connection to SC and ignores all data sent to it on that connection - hence the long delays as mplayer spews data at it. It looks more like a Softsqueeze bug than an SC bug and I am not familiar with the innerds of Softsqueeze/ Java and since Softsqueeze is deprecated - the bug may not get fixed.
