False alarm, perhaps: When I got the connection error, it was with softsqueeze. I just now went and tried it on a real squeezebox, and I was able to play Last.fm fine. So, Piotr, you will probably be fine when your Duet arrives.
Don't know why softsqueeze has a problem, but it's a non-issue for me, because if I'm at my computer I'll use the Last.fm client, not SqueezeCenter.
