Hi all,

This is not stricly a plugin, it's more of a HOWTO: I recently
managed to make my FM USB radio stream its audio to squeezecenter, with
included RDS information (station name, radiotext).

The rationale behind is that I had trouble to get a good quality and
reliable stream for my favorite radio station, which I could anyway get
through a standard FM radio. Moreover many stations actually send the
current song name in the RDS info, which is never available on their mp3
streams.

Using a cheap USB radio dongle and a simple icecast/ices2 setup I
managed to make the radio stream to squeezecenter, and I also set up a
small daemon called "rdsd" so that the radio RDS info is injected into
the stream. Sound quality is great too, I was really surprised!

The result is that the SB3 now shows the name of the current song in
real time when listening to the radio, which is really nice!

The howto can be found at https://www.lafargue.name/article2773.html

Let me know if you find this useful...
