That SOMAfm stream is 48k - the BBC streams are typically 128k for UK listeners so your system may mot be able to handle transcoding the higher speed better quality Flash / AAC.
You didn't say what sort of player you but assuming you do not have an SB1 or older, then you could try disabling the AAC preference in BBCiPlayer settings.
