On your item # 1 above, the volume display will appear to change, but the volume will not actually change if you have set it to 100%. I may have resolved my issue; extension downloader does not work for IR blaster, at least for me. I played around and stuck in a variety of directories. I got it to go past the previous error statement, and hopefull y that is that.
