Supporting all the screen functionality that SDT has is actually quite tricky, especially with the icons and 3line text. Over the years I haven't had many requests to scroll the main display. Personally I think it would be distracting. Having the period information automatically cycle (like hitting the up/down remote buttons) has come up in the past. It's possible but would be difficult to implement as there are already quite a few timers being used to control the display and to do it right all of them would need to take an additional timer into account. What would be easier (I think) to implement would be force it to cycle one item each time it returns from showing sports/etc. I don't really see the value though. IMO a typical user will leave it set to one period (current or next) and when they desire to see another period they'll use the remote to find the exact one they care about.
