This means that it has forgotten your username and password - go to the
web settings page and re-add the password and click apply.  This should
then be stored in the spotify library rather than the plugin.  I wonder
if this is not happening in your setup.  Where is your squeezebox server
"cache" stored - is it possible this is being wiped or is not big
enough?  This is where the spotify library stores things including your
encrypted password.

You need to open the "helper app port" set on the setting page for
incoming connections from your local LAN.

Yes you can install the 2.0.4 version manually, but bear in mind all
future support will be on the new version.  It is available here:

http://xdevtriodeplugins.xpdev-hosted.com/Spotify-linux-v2.0.4.zip

You will need to unzip the plugin into the Plugins folder of your setup
and remove the automatically installed version.
