It's the pixel size that counts, not the file size. The file is
compressed and a few MG are no problem. But the full image will be
created in the image memory accessible by the graphics controller and
it's 32 bit deep (24 bit color and 8 bit alpha) so we are talking 7,5
MB here (which I believe should still work).

could you send me that file, I currently can't reproduce the crash
issue although I did try bigger files.
Maybe it's not the file size but the encoding or something else.

Unless you rescale the cover wall thumbnails they should be shown as
delivered by the server.

What that feature shows is usually right what the server delivers,
"show cover art" is a server provided menu and I believe it uses the
slideshow feature (need to check).
