I think the allocation of MAC address is no longer as regulated as it
used to be. With many of the new Android dongle such as mk802III and
Allwinner A10 based systems (e.g. cubieboard) by default the MAC address
is chosen randomly each time system boots. If user want to fix the MAC
address, the user has to supply a MAC address. In this situation how
can a user be sure the random MAC address or the one the user has chosen
is not used by something else somwhere in the world.

I suspect if this becomes a big issue for Pandora, it will change but
Pandora may just be using the MAC address check as a simple Go/No-Go
test and not actually save and track MAC addresses.
