Hi netchord

I am not sure why this is not working for you. It should work if you
install the plugin folder in either location. Is it possible you have
it installed in both places? Have you copied the complete folder and all
of its sub-folders? Is the iTunesUpdate folder showing up in either the
DownloadedPlugins or InstalledPlugins folders within your Library/Caches
folder?

There is a bug in the new version of the plugin (2.9.0) that is stopping
the normal repository download method (from the plugins tab) working
properly as the system keeps thinking it needs to update to a new
version and it ends up going around in circles. I think this is because
the install.xml file in the iTunesUpdate folder refers to version 2.8.3
instead of 2.9.0. The installed plugin should still work though. Might
be worth manually changing the version number in this file and see if
that helps.

Do you get a message that plugins need updating from the home page of
the web interface? This would explain why it no longer shows up in the
lists of available plugins. If you turn off the 'download updated
plugins automatically' option then you should see iTunesUpdate show at
the top of the page.

Sorry I do not have any definite answers, but hope this helps.
