For what it's worth, I agree with you 100% regarding this, keep the core
server small and instead focus on making good API's so it can be
extended through plugins. 
This is especially important if Logitech would eventually decide to
shutdown the maintenance of the server completely because then third
party developers can easily continue to maintain the individual plugins
which contains most of the functionality.
