If you can get me a contact in Synology I would be happy to discuss with
them.  There should be no reason why their NASs cannot be supported, but
from people's posts here there are two issue which seem to exist:
1) Synology persist in not following standard conventions for the perl
architecture string, this means LMS's default detection of what
processor architecture they have does not work, this makes it harder for
the plugin to find included binaries
2) It appears that recent Synology OSs do not support reading RPATH
entries in binaries - this means the automatic search for the library
which the plugin uses doesn't work on Synology devices [it works on all
other linux devices people have reported].  From reports on this forum
this is a recent change from Synology.  It would be appreciated if
Synology could return to previous operation for dynamic library loading
