I applied all the fixes above, with great success! Just recently - last week or so - though I've had BBC streams cutting out every few seconds. I suspect this is in fact a system or ISP problem (the penalty of living in rural France....) but I thought I'd just check here in case there was some known present issue with the new iPlayer or the Beeb.
The streams I'm having most trouble with are: R4 Ex: http://www.radiofeeds.co.uk/bbcradio4extra.pls (by far the worse problems) and R3: http://www.radiofeeds.co.uk/bbcradio3.pls I have these saved as MySqueezebox.com favorites, originally accessed by iPlayer "fixed" as per this thread.
