I have just lost all sign of my ext usb on a RPi 2/Hifiberry with max2play 2.27; so maybe it's not just a RPi 3 problem.
This si the 3rd time I have set it up from new and it works for about 3 weeks then fails. It is not my network problem as LMS is still working with the iPlayer just fine. I am thinking the problem is max2play.
