I use SVN on my personal development server, and I am unlikely to change
that. However, for contributing to open source projects, I do prefer
github. Github makes is much easier for me to maintain a private branch,
share my changes, and pull in patches from others, including non-main-line
patches.

In addition to what everyone else says about github, I like that github
makes it easier to catalog one's contributions to open-source software...
for the day when a resume needs to be updated :)

I very much appreciate the work that Dominik and others have put into
PoDoFo. I will happily contribute any patches that I develop if I think
that anyone else would find them useful, no matter what SCM the project
uses.
