Hmm, everything looks good to me. Are you positive that the directory
/cache exists?
If so, please run
/etc/init.d/polipo stop
strace -f -o /tmp/polipo.trace polipo
...
killall polipo
and put the resulting polipo.trace file somewhere on the web for us to
look at.
