Pluto, background checks are already required to purchase any type of firearm in this Nation today. I haven't read President Obama's Executive Order yet; (I haven't even seen it); but the President's "hype" and purported focus on background checks is all hype, and I suspect a ruse to get around the President's real intent to implement the White House's (and liberal's) plan to deny the sale of any firearm to individuals who might appear on the government's "No Fly" list; which is this mysterious list that no one in the general public (or the Congress) knows how or why this list is created or fashioned....At one point in time, the list included Congressmen and Senators to include Senator Ted Kennedy. There's no due process in this list; or any form of an appeal.
The Obama Administration and those Americans who would like to see firearms banned in the U.S. have triedso many underhanded, Unconstitutional measures, (by example banning ammunition; taxing gun stores and gun manufacturers; auditing these same types of businesses; as well as a host of other actions I'm not even thinking about or I forget right now) that the American public does not trust the President or his Administration.
