Hey Pluto, We probably agree more than we disagree here....My only distinction is that I think it's ridiculous to now attack gun ownership, the 2nd Amendment to our Constitution, and in general for the White House to start a very partisan Anti-Firearm discussion in this Nation after the San Bernadino terrorist attack.
I know that you live in Australia, but you seem to keep abreast of U.S. News better than a lot of Americans do. Did you notice that President Obama never raised the issue of firearms, background checks, or anything relating to these horrific deaths after the Kate Steinle murder in San Franscisco several months ago? The same can be said for the President and his Administration after each weekend when dozens of Black Teenagers are murdered in gang violence in Baltimore, Chicago and other big cities where Democrats have been in control (and have strict gun control laws already in place); today was the first or second tiime I've even heard the President address these gangland style killings in Chicago or Baltimore. The hypocrisy is just stunning to me. For instance, right now there is a large movement in this Nation to do away with anything relating to "Southern Heritage"; be it statutes of Confederate Soldiers, Politicians, or even our founding fathers, who may (or may not) have supported slavery; yet the Obama Adminisration is attempting to criminalize disparaging remarks made agaiinst Muslims or Islam; much less anyone who dares complain about Islamic presence in this Nation, or individuals wearing a Burka where they are unidentifiable.
