Pluto, I realize that you live in Australia, and obviously I cannot speak knowledgably about how your tax structure works, or who, or who isn't paying taxes. I recall recently the articles that we discussed (I think was it Quantas? No, it was Boeing! Why is Boeing paying any taxes in Australia? Is there an actual Boeing manufacturing plant in Australia? ) But I digress.....Corporations don't really pay any taxes in the first place, their clients/customer base do, but we'll come back to that on another thread.
In the United States, there are only approximately 50 percent of Americans now paying federal income taxes. The bottom 50 percent American wage earners pay relatively NOTHING! The top one percent pay the bulk of these taxes.
