A couple of points and an observation to your post Geoffrey: First, Donald Trump is the only candidate that I've heard in the last 16 years who expresses his belief that this whole Terrorism threat can be remediated within a very short time. Unlike President Bush, President Obama, and purported terrorist experts John McCain and Lindsey "Chinless" Graham, all who emphasize and repeat constantly that this Middle Eastern terrorism, caused by only a few "Radical Islamic Fundamentalists" (Because Islam is a religion of peace); will take years; even decades to get a handle on. McCain even said on several occasions that this was truly a "Hundred Year War"! Trump believes that we can nip this problem in the bud rather succinctly; and with calculated, strategic combat operations.
I agree with him, and have never bought into this whole campaign of taking decades to whip this Islamic Jihad. Second, President Obama has literally decimated our military, both from an economic standpoint; e.g.; equipment; troop strength; technology; etc.; I dare say that our military is far worse in 2016 than it was in 1980 after President Carter did the same thing to our military. More importantly, President Obama as purposely and tactfully done away with and attacked those military leaders, strategists; Generals; and logistics personnel who were conservative; those who didn't see the Islamic world in his purview; and I believe Obama has literally gutted our military leadership purposely....One can only assume for whatever reason(s) this was done.
