As the resident of a city that is enduring a (so far) two month transit strike, and sub zero temperatures/ or storms, I am fast becoming convinced that senior management would be far more effective if they had to travel the same way as the rest of us. Then perhaps such luxuries as parking, and clean subways, and road safety would become the rule. They might even start learning to design cities with a plan that would be convenient for all who must live there. As long as those who represent us can short circuit the realities of life, there will be problems.
