I cannot speak for others, but I will tell you what I think. I was opposed to the Patriot Act from the beginning. It was reactive, excessive and unconstitutional. The Congress had no right to draft all the component pieces of legislation that were beyond the powers and authority to do and they should never have given such uncontested power to any President.
