We don't know any of these claims to be real... Just as Gates could be getting carried away, cops have that ability to change details when they feel that they're on the line too. People (all people) can become lying scum when they have something to gain or lose, and cops are people too. Unfortunately when cops lie, it is their word against ours, and when they make a "mistake" there is nobody there to hand them a +$100 ticket. And believe me, cops get away with a lot. And if you ask me it's not a race thing because cops are dicks to everyone, not just blacks. It's just that when bad things happen to minorities, it automatically becomes a hate crime and is news worthy.
