Dave,

      The key word being criminals, not your average citizen. If they
want a piece of the pie they need only work for it like anyone else.
I've known many who have come from poor families but were able to make
a pretty good life for themselves. It is not just a matter of being
poor but what one will do to better his/her situation. Then of course
you have the lazy poor sponging off the system.
