This extra hiring is just seasonal/Christmas hiring. In January 2010, the unemployment rate will jump when all those seasonal/Christmas employees are fired. (They won't even be able to collect unemployment either because they didn't work at those seasonal/Christmas jobs long enough to establish credibility)
