Then who was the other vote. You have accounted for 42 votes and
there were 43. BTW the twisted pretzel logic I mentioned earlier with
regard to Susan Collins is precisely what she gave as her reason for
voting against the bill. Talk to Harry Reid. It was his doing that
lost her vote. Nothing twisted pretzel. The Republicans asked very
nicely to open the bill up for amendments and were turned down. They
also asked very nicely to hold off until the Pentagon finished their
analysis which is due on Dec 1 and were turned down. Two very good
reasons to vote against the bill. You are only interested in the DADT
part of the bill. Do you have any idea of what else is in that bill?
If it were passed then what would be the total consequences of passing
it. DADT would be gone but what else would be involved. After all the
Dems are past masters of shoving all kinds of things into bills that
they expect will pass with no problem such as military expenditure
bills. Or the 1099 rules that are included in the Obamacare bill.
What do 1099 rules have to do with HCR. Same with this one. Tell us
from all your knowledge just what all is included in this bill and what
the ramifications of passing them would be.
