I cannot find the thread that I am referencing, but I recall this same discussion, and pretty much laying out this very same argument, (Below) months ago. The US Constitution provides the Executive Branch and the Legislative Branch with a number of inherent powers, to include the enforcement of immigration laws. For starters, let’s begin with the Preamble: *“We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America”.* “Insuring Domestic Tranquility”; “Providing for the common defense”; and “promoting the general welfare” all applies here. The cost of illegal aliens on our social infrastructure is literally crippling. We are literally being invaded, and I can give a number of examples of these groups (*e.g*.; La Raza and others) whose sole intent is to recapture most all if not all of the Southwestern United States for Mexico. Another thread for another day, as I am working, but I can document this. the Constitution mandates that the Congress (and the President) protect American sovereignty and the American People. Let’s begin with Article One, Section Eight, which deals with the Powers of the Congress, and all of these Sections are applicable : Clause 1: “The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts <http://www.usconstitution.net/glossary.html#IMPOST> and Excises<http://www.usconstitution.net/glossary.html#EXCISE>, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare<http://www.usconstitution.net/glossary.html#WELFARE>of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts <http://www.usconstitution.net/glossary.html#IMPOST> and Excises<http://www.usconstitution.net/glossary.html#EXCISE>shall be uniform throughout the United States; Clause 3: “To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes”; Clause 4: “To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization, and uniform Laws on the subject of Bankruptcies throughout the United States”; Clause 11: “To declare War, grant Letters of Marque<http://www.usconstitution.net/glossary.html#MARQUE>and Reprisal <http://www.usconstitution.net/glossary.html#REPRISAL>, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water”; Clause 15: “To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions” Clause 20; “To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia, and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress”; Even Article One, Section Ten, Clause Three gives the States the right to defend themselves with the invasion by illegal aliens: Clause Three: “No State shall, without the Consent of Congress, lay any duty of Tonnage, keep Troops, or Ships of War in time of Peace, enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State, or with a foreign Power, or engage in War, unless actually invaded, or in such imminent Danger as will not admit of delay. ------------------------------ I am rushed for time right now, but I will pick up on this thread later, and we’ll touch upon the other inherent powers by the Congress, and delve into the Executive Branch’s ability to stop the invasion and detriment to our Nation that illegal aliens pose. Just as important Michael, illegal immigrants do not have the right to contract for work in our Nation, in our State or in our cities, as I believe you are attempting to portray. There is no unalienable right for anyone to contract for work....An unalienable right is a right given to us by God Almighty. The Constitution is only a document, or a contract if you will, that prohibits Public Servants from trampling upon our unalienable rights, given to us by God.
