MJ: Civil rights are what the Founding Fathers 'thought' they were guaranteeing via the original Constitution. In NO case does "government", composed of the employees of the citizens, get to have any sanction over the civil rights of the citizens IN THEIR OWN PRIVATE SPHERES. The spirit of the Constitution prevents governments from imposing the ideals of any group on any other group or individual. That simple concept makes socialism (liberalism, progressivism, etc.) criminal. The 'updated' pledge summarizes the goals for government: “I Pledge Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Democracy-on-demand Republic for which it stands. We’re One Nation of individuals who champion fair play, maximum civil liberties, the Right of self-determination, and having an efficient, unobtrusive and deferential government.” John A.
