Kat sat quietly in the car, willing herself not to cry. She knew she had to
get away from this woman. The safe kids man had come to school and told
them all about that. She just needed to find the best chance. She thought
about jumping out of the car, but was too scared to try that, maybe when it
slowed down though. However, it didn't slow down, not even for stop lights.
It didn't stop until they reached their destination. A place Kat
recognized. Before the car had even reached a complete stop Kat through
open the door and began to run as fast as her small legs could carry her.
She had to hide or find help.
