All that being said, if you are still getting traffic 7 years later I

Ok, that is probably the case. I just wanted to make sure that it wasn't
still in the pool, and I couldn't find the definitive answer on the web.

It is not completely certain.
I have been in the pool for some time. Then, I had a change in IP address and
also
I got a new router which I could no longer configure to be transparent and have
no
connection tracking firewall. So I decided to leave, dropped the old address
from the
pool and never announced the new one.

But I still have a couple of clients. What they apparently did was getting IP
adresses
from the pool, finding those ones that look attractive (at that time I had two
different
GPS receivers and a DCF-77 receiver all running, so 3 stratum-0 sources), do a
reverse-DNS-lookup on those adresses and hardwire the name into their config.

Now the same name points to my new IP address and the same clients come back,
even after 4 years.
