Could be the baud rate on your Garmin has changed. I know on mine there is a
way to change this to a value that you wish. All detailed in the manual from
memory.

Subject: [Pool] Fwd: Sure Electronics vs. Garmin 18 LVC

 Does anybody have a suggestion on what might be the issue with my Garmin 18
LVC? I did a simple wiring arrangement to make sure nothing involving LEDs or
Resistors was causing my problems. But in looking at the data feed via the COM
port, all I see is garbage and can only assume one thing, "A busted Garmin
Receiver". In comparison I cabled up a Sure Electronics board just to make sure
the Port, Cabling, etc wasn't a possible issue with the problems I'm seeing.

 Any suggestions on what might be at fault are appreciated. Here is my wiring:

Garmin  --->  DE9 Connector
=======================
Yellow ---> Pin 1
White ---> Pin 2
Green ---> Pin 3

Power
=====
Red ---> +5V
Black ---> Ground (All 3 Black Wires)
