heya,
i gotta say, methinks von trier squeezed the lemon a little too dry - any
spark of energy was close to snuffed out by making each little scene into a
long and winding epic, which was unnecessary and anti-climactic. in the
end, i got the impression that either he considered the viewers as fools or
that he believed himself to be a genius. (spoonfed, i felt) the aesthetic
was fine and it had its moments, but the potential could not be saved -
basically i found it to be very showy, leaving much too little to the
imagination, despite all the fantasy sequences.
cathy was pretty cool, and so was the police guy. bjork can fake tears
really well, but, lord, i hated that movie. i might go see it again though
just to see what my friend's reaction would be like, cos it's just my
opinion - i know some people who disagreed with me, and thas cool too, if
they liked it then that's great. ;) so you saw it jeff? tell us what you
think, i haven't really heard any opinions about the movie besides "i loved
it" and "i hated it".
