Hi!
Some tweaks:
 - no need for N variable which is used only once
 - no need for HOMEPAGE - its dealt with TUPLE mechanics
 - No need fir DISTNAME
 - no need for @conflict marker in PLIST
 - fix typo in README
 - add a comment for COMPILER
 - set SHARED_LIBS for lib versioning

Works fine for me on amd64. ok kirby@ to import.
Updated tarball attached.
