I am submitting emails via SMTP to Postfix 2.5.5. I get a bounce on a
particular email-address, as follows:

<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:
    [10.11.12.253] [10.11.12.253]:
RCPT TO:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
<<< 501 5.1.3 Bad recipient address syntax

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

However, accoring to RFC 2822, Section 3.2.4, 3.4 and 3.4.1, the address
itself should be legal.

It is RFC compliant, but not safe. Postfix rejects such addresses, see
http://www.postfix.org/postconf.5.html#allow_min_user

Thank you, and also Brian, for your help!
