I use gmail's smtp server to send e-mail.
Why not use the SMTP server provided by your ISP?
Please note the following. 1. Internet works fine. 2. Evolution can send e-mail using the same smtp server account 3. I cannot ping any address on the internet.
Sounds like a ISP issue..
When I send the mail, it just stays in the queue. The results of mailq, tail /var/log/mail.log, and postconf -n are pasting below for reference.

Do you have the brackets in the main.cf? Not sure if that will cause a problem or not.
