No. Generic rewriting takes place on output, i.e. when delivering via
SMTP. We then get the following sequence on the gateway server:
1. Input: Virtual rewrite to new.example.com
2. Routing decision based on new.example.com.
3. Output: Generic rewrite back to example.com.
