I think maybe we are not communicating. I may be misunderstanding your situation completely. At a *wild guess* I'll say this (read my whole email before you go to the link):

I would direct you to look at <https://www.postfix.org/BASIC_CONFIGURATION_README.html>  . Don't follow the first link from that page, rather let the next headings sink in, and read them:

**    What domain name to use in *outbound mail*  ** -- I guess you've got that :)

**    What domains to *receive mail for* ** -- Ditto

**    What clients to relay mail from ** -- I.e which mail-*users* will be allowed to send *out* from your domain, via your server.

**    What destinations to relay mail *to* ** -- This is for a large organisation which has multiple mail-servers, possibly handling mail for multiple domains. You might  want to skip that, only note that "relay" is another server to which you hand off the responsibility for further delivery.

**    What delivery method: direct or indirect ** -- *THIS* is the one you want. Specifically the last line in that example. This is if you want to hand off out-bound delivery to relay.com, rather than delivering directly to the recipient domain .
