Dear Postfix users,

It appears that if a MySQL query fails due to an illegal mix of collations,
subsequent queries also fail for up to 60 seconds.

Is there a workaround for Postfix 3.8.x other than upgrading to 3.9 and using
the new option retry_interval?

I am asking because the 3.9 changelog states:

"(...) we have learned that Postfix can recover faster from some errors when
the single server is specified multiple times in the "hosts" attribute."

Thank you.

Stefan
