Postfix will support BerkeleyDB for as long as OS distributions

For example, I do not expect it to be dropped by the *BSD platforms.
These come with a BerkeleyDB implementation that was released under
the (surprise) BSD license, not AGPL.
Just out of curiosity; are you planning to allow building BerkeleyDB
support as a Postfix dynamic database plugin, like the other db's?
Right now it's still a special case being built into libpostfix.
This would it make easier for distro's to make BDB support optional,
and ease the transition.
What does the distro need beyond a postmap tool statically linked
against BDB so that the user can "postmap -s"?
