That's not what I asked for; I only want some character to match the
union of what 'foo' and '.foo' currently match (when
parent_domain_matches_subdomains does not contain
"smtpd_access_maps").
This is usually where I switch to REs because they have exactly this
capability already.
"^(.+\.)?" is parent_domain_matches_subdomains but on a per-rule basis.
# postmap -q foo pcre:'{{/^(.+\.)?foo$/ match}}'
match
# postmap -q barfoo pcre:'{{/^(.+\.)?foo$/ match}}'
# postmap -q bar.foo pcre:'{{/^(.+\.)?foo$/ match}}'
match
