Hello dear postfix team!
I want to ask you about the following issue:
The log file with sending error description is created in
/var/spool/postfix/defer directory after the message is replaced in deferred
queue. If we requeue this message it goes to Maildrop queue and gets a new queue
ID.
But the old log file with the old queue ID name in defer queue is not deleted
after the message is processed (no matter it is sent successfully or deleted as
expired from deferred queue). So a lot of such files can be accumulated in this
directory which potentially may use all inodes quantity.
Is it a bug or there are some reasons to leave these files in
/var/spool/postfix/defer ?
