Where did you look? A source install of Postfix using default paths

I installed from CentOS RPMs. The version I have is
postfix-2.3.3-2.3.el5_6.
/etc/postfix contains these files:
access header_checks main.cf.rpmsave postfix-script
transport
bounce.cf.default LICENSE makedefs.out post-install
virtual
canonical main.cf master.cf relocated
generic main.cf.default postfix-files TLS_LICENSE
postconf -d | grep aliases
is where postfix expect it, but its not hardcoded if set in main.cf
