start with a empty main.cf is my best :=)since this inhirit optimized defaults, while it keeps dynamic change in the host autoupdate
in other words, just add lines to main.cf for config you really need changed
haveing mynetworks in main.cf is one of the worst if your network does not contain more then one wan ip
