Citing the virtual(5) manpage, patterns are tried in the order as listed below:
user@domain address, address, ...
user address, address, ...
and so on.
Citing the postconf(5) manpage, tables will be searched in the
specified order until a match is found.
So, the first pattern is searched n the tables until a match is
found, then the next pattern is searched until a match is found,
and so on.
